An historic former gold mine.

Neighbouring mine to McNeill's, and on the same reef. The mine produced 4 tonnes of ore for 123 ounces of gold. A shaft had been sunk in the late 1880's to 25 feet, mainly on a barren hornblende dyke.

Carr-Boyd and Giles (surnames) January 1888, offered a substantial ₤50,000 for the lease subject to a trial. One month later they arrived on the S.S. Otway at Cossack from Derby with the above mentioned 4 tonnes of ore, transporting it to a battery. It is uncertain if they handed over any money for the lease.
