By far the largest of several lakes in the immediate area, all former open cut coal mines. Mining ceased in 1997. The pits subsequently filled with water. It is located 15 kilometres south-east of Collie. The area around the lake has been extensively re-vegetated. Waste rock was moved to cover the dumps and exposed coal seams. The site is little visited, although the local community would like to see it as a recreation reserve, the water acidity preventing this from being approved.
