Köppen climate type:
A squarish shaped lake at the former pit site, 10 kilometres south-east of Collie. The modern Premier mine is a short distance to the east. The lake contained at one point a fish and marron aquaculture research facility as part of the Centre for Sustainable Mine Lakes project. Water was pumped from the lake into five ponds. Several of the lakes occupying former pits in the district contain marron, and small (to 5cms long) native fish like the Western Pygmy Perch. Water acidity has limited population numbers.
