Köppen climate type:
An ultramafic-mafic intrusion in a steep dip folded sill of peridotite containing pyroxenite, anorthosite, norite and gabbro. 950 metres thick. Chromite layers are hosted by the peridotite, 0.1 to 0.5 metres thick, with localised high PGE concentrations to 7.5 g/t. The chromitites showed marked lateral variation. They are cross cut by faults, which displace the chromatites by up to 1.2 kilometres, and divides the intrusions into blocks.
Another source states it is a Cu-Pb-Zn deposit in felsic metasedimentary rocks, intruded by metagabbro. Mineralisation is in sheared chloritic rhyolitic breccia and talcose carbonate rocks 60 metres in length, with disseminated malachite and chrysocolla.
Explored by PMI 1964-1968, Newmont and Kennco 1969-1972, BHP 1977-1985.
