Prospect (Inactive) - last checked 2021
Köppen climate type:
An un-worked molybdenum, wolfram prospect.
Located north of the Yinnietharra pegmatite field, about equal distances from the Yinnietharra, Gifford Creek and Minnie Creek pastoral station homesteads. The Nina prospect is 15 kilometres north of the Mindat listed Minnie Springs Mo prospect.
The prospect contains high grade molybdenite, copper and gold mineralisation associated with coarse grained quartz-scheelite veins or areas of dissemination.
The mineralisation is in a zone 450 by 120 metres. At least eight scheelite bearing quartz veins have been found, the largest 100 metres long by 1.5 metres thick. There are at least two generations of variably deformed quartz veins in the area, hosted by variably deformed and retrograde altered mafic units.
