Ordinary chondrite, veined (L6; S5)
Fall, 9 April 1894; 15 kg
In April loud rumbling detonations were heard, and in June two stones were found. A 4.2 kg stone was recovered , but the larger stone — which had already broken up by impact was scattered and mostly lost. Additional stones were recovered in 1895 and 1896. The stone was covered with a dark brown crust with undulating depressions or pits. The interior was light grey with some scattered rusty flecks and occasional chondritic textures. The interior was dominated by granular olivine (Fa23) fragments accompanied by pyroxene. Indistinct chondrules of pyroxene and, less frequently, olivine are present. Small conspicuous grains of reflective troilite are present as well as minor amounts of Fe-Ni metal and albitic plagioclase-maskelynite. Accessory chromite, copper, and isocubanite are present in small or very small amounts. Various features of strong preterrestrial shock (plessite, polycrystalline kamacite, maskelynite…) have drawn the attention of various studies. A cosmic ray exposure age of ~18.1 Ma has been reported.
The 4.2 kg mass remains with the University of Minnesota.
