Köppen climate type:
Located 5.5 kilometres north-west of the Cane Hill Mine, however as the sources give contradictory information about the location of the latter mine, it is of little help. Bonzle states there are two locations (Lockes and Whynot), 5 kilometres north-west of the Cane Hill Mine. Whynot is 1-2 kilometres south-west of Lockes.
It is hosted in phyllite, and limestone, trending north-west. This contains a cupriferous quartz vein, 30 metres long, trending north-east, with malachite, chalcocite, cuprite and limonite in bunches up to 30 cms thick. No record production, and when inspected in the mid 1970's, the 8.5 metre prospecting shaft had collapsed.
Marston notes a location called Big Blow, 600 metres west of Lockes, containing several thin cupriferous quartz veins 2-3 metres thick in a quartz blow.
