The Maple Leaf gold mine is approximately 9 kilometres east of Tennant Creek, and 500 metres south of the repeater station-Blue Moon mine track. Evidence of this small historic mine could not be found, and the Mindat map is approximate. Ivanac indicates that the Maple Leaf mine is situated "7 1/2 miles from Tennant Creek on a magnetic bearing of 67°"
The lease was applied for in 1946 by Robert James Lethbridge, Ernest Becker and William Fern Hartley of Tennant Creek, GML 182E, 20 acres. One source subsequently states there was no production, while another says 27 ounces of gold was recovered. Modat claims scheelite and wolframite at the location, and scheelite at the nearby small Plain Jane mine, although no research so far has mentioned the species in the district.
