Both spellings were found, for the often passing references to this mine. While dating from the 1930's, no historical information was found. The mine is located in the New Hope area, about 30 kilometres south-east of Tennant Creek, 500 metres south of the Gosse River Road, where it changes from heading east to east-south-east. A faint track winds to the deposit. A source in the 1990's states there is a very deep shaft at the location, but satellite images indicate a small bulldozed area, so its present state is unclear.
The mine is on a hematite-magnetite lode, separated from another ironstone lode by flowstone. The cherry red coloured flowstone is earthy with pelletoidal magnetite nodules. The geology source spends most of its time theorising about the origin of the flowstone.
The mine is located in MC C167 and is East of the New Hope mine.
