The Kurundi gold prospect is about 5 kilometres south of the Kurundi pastoral station homestead. Access is via a track just west of the homestead, which crosses a creek, before arriving at the workings bordering the east side of the track. It contains two shafts, a small open pit, costeans, and there appears to be another shaft and bulldozed area 200 metres to the east.
The western shaft is down to 10 metres on andesite/basalt of the Edmirringie Volcanics. A one metre wide auriferous banded quartz vein, dipping 45 degrees east shows in the south-east corner of the open pit. Secondary copper is noted in the spoil of the collapsed eastern shaft on a cupriferous quartz vein. The prospect is covered by a thin layer of calcrete, cobble alluvium and sand.
