This locality has been added as the nearest well known location to Fe-Mn prospects in the area.
Standley Chasm is one of several gorges cutting the MacDonnell Ranges. It is a marked tourist site. The chasm is a narrow cleft with shear walls. At midday, when the sun hits the wall, they 'light up' with eye popping almost fluoro reds and oranges. In winter at this time of day, the chasm can get very busy.
