Ordinary chondrite, brecciated (L6,br)
Fell, 1873; 3.2 kg

An incompletely and somewhat confusedly documented fall was obtained by the French National Museum. A portion of the crust was described as 'scoriated and bubbly' but several reports refer to the meteorite simply as a small ordinary chondrite with a predominantly light grey matrix. Olivine (Fa24) and orthopyroxene ('hypersthene') are characteristic of L6 ordinary chondrites. Mineralogically the meteorite consists primarily of dominant olivine and orthopyroxene accompanied by troilite, Fe-Ni metal, and — presumably — plagioclase. Accessory opaques include chromite, copper, ilmenite, and schreibersite. An unusual feldspar-rich 'howarditic' inclusion is also present.

The L-group of ordinary chondrites (relatively low in total iron) is the largest group of witnessed meteorite falls and account for nearly 45% of the well-classified meteorite falls. The L6 petrologic type accounts for ~ 70% of the group and 272 meteorite falls are currently classified exactly as 'L6' chondrites [June 2017].

As of 2015, a 157.93 moderate-sized mass was held at the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris with a few additional specimens scattered here and there.
