Kwaggafontein farm 520 KQ, approx 45 km west of Bela-Bela. A copper mine in volcanic beds of the Smelterskop Stage. The copper lode is associated with a quartz-limonite vein 0.5 to 1.35 m thick. It consists mainly of malachite, azurite, chalcocite, fluorite and the above-mentioned gangue minerals. Below the groundwater level at 40 m, chalcopyrite, bornite and enargite predominate. The average grade of the lode is about 2 to 3 per cent copper. Fluorite occurs with copper ores in a fracture zone in the Smelterskop andesites and has been mined from a rich lens .
