Köppen climate type:
Named after the sharp bend the pegmatite takes at its southern end. For directions see 'Pannikin Mica Mine'.
When inspected in 1945, the pegmatite contain two small pits, although it is unlikely much remains of these now. The pegmatite is large, at half a mile long, 20-120 feet wide, trending north-south, but irregular at its southern end.
The southern section contains large masses of biotite, plagioclase, microcline, and bluish glassy quartz, with muscovite books up to 8 inches in diameter. The northern section is granitic, without the mineralization above. The source concentrates on the economic worth of the mica only. Gemstones are possible, but is unknown.
Constantine Perry took out the Elbow lease in 1944, and re-leased it in 1946.
