Ordinary chondrite (L6)
Find, 1951; 12.9 kg
A single meteoritic stone was found. Inspections reveal indistinct chondrules within a largely equilibrated matrix. Compositionally, equilibrated olivine (Fa24) and low Ca-orthopyroxene ('hypersthene') are characteristic of the L-chondrite geochemical group. Mineralogically the meteorite consists primarily of dominant olivine accompanied by pyroxene with minor troilite and Fe-Ni metal. Accessory chromite, copper, ilmenite and schreibersite were reported by Ramdohr (1973) whose study of opaque minerals appears to be the only extensive mineralogical study made of the meteorite.
The main mass was held by a private collector for several decades (H. O. Stockwell).
