A privately owned quarry which is the type locality for the Codden Hill Cherts. On rare occasions the owners take aggregates for farm tracks and gateways.
The quarry lies in the mid-upper part of the Codden Hill Cherts, and has been reported to include sparse fossils, the usual lenticular phosphate nodules of the cherts and some phosphate mineralisation.
Access may be granted. The vertical bedding with a shear face makes it potentially dangerous.
