Historic gold mine.
Located south of the Conqueror gold mine, on the western side of the Tairua River.
Little information was found. The mine was active at least in a development stage in 1908 by the Tairua Monarch Gold Mining Company. In 1909, it amalgamated with the neighbouring Triumph, and Conqueror mines, and shortly after the Coronation Mine. The company originally only had a two stamp battery, although it is reported this was extended in 1912. In 1911, 200 tonnes was crushed for 105 ounces. No information was found beyond 1912, and it is assumed the new battery exhausted the company's funds, which could not be recouped with the low value ore at the site.
