Bazaltowe Słupy (Czarne Urwisko) is located on the southern slope of Strzybnik hill, between Ułęż and Lutynia. A poor exposure of grey basaltic-type rock in the wood in a small abandoned quarry. The rock originally determined as basanite (pyroxene-nepheline basalt Wojno et all 1950), later as ankaratrite or basanite (Białowolska 1980, Kozłowska-Koch 1976, 1987). Mineral composition very similar to Lutynia-Szwedzkie Szańce quarry. Based on mineral and chemical compositions, should be classifield as basanite (Birkenmajer et all 2002). K/Ar dating result that basanite from Czarne Urwisko is so far the youngest volcanic rock recognized in Poland.
