Katanga Copper Crescent; Zaïre
A number of copper and cobalt deposits, located in the area between Tenke hill in the northwest and Fungurume hill in the southeast (at a distance of roughly 30 km). Some of these deposits were still not worked in the early 1990s. At that time, reserves were estimated at 222 million tons of ore grading at 4.59% copper and 0.36% cobalt.
