Name(s) in local language(s):
"la mine" "mine de la Villeder" (ou Ville Der)
Pneumatolytic-hydrothermal quartz-cassiterite-beryl-arsenopyrite-molybdenite veins.
Probably already worked in the Roman era.
About 10 pits have been dug in the past from 1853 onwards, among them the "puit Saint Michel" (256 m deep, with numerous galleries). All the pits are now flooded and secured. The works lasted from ~1856 to 1916, with only minor ore production. The remaining buildings have been restored and turned into a museum and a brewery.
An open cut ("la grande tranchée" ou "la grande carrière": "the great open cut" or "the great quarry") has been worked too: it still exists but is now private property and collecting is prohibited.
