Kvivikdalen (Ålefjær), Ålefjær, Kristiansand, Agder, Norge

The locality is a 1-1.5 m wide calcite/pyrolusite vein cutting through granitic gneiss and amphibolities.

In the period between 1917-19 the vein was followed 137 m underground.

A number of minerals, predominantly microminerals, has been identified.

This locality has often been mislabelled just "Ålefjær", the correct one should be Kvivikdalen (Breivik et al. 2007).

The NGU coordinates are for a spot WSW of the Mindat coordinates, where the dump is located, yielding the described minerals: 58.2211470,8.0291240.
