A former small surface and underground Au-W-Pb mine located on 3 claims in the NW ¼ sec. 7, T.24S., R.21E., at the mouth of Montezuma Canyon, and North of the Montezuma or Border Ranch, southern end of the Huachuca Mountains, about 3 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border. Owned by J. Zaleski and S. Kudznu (1940).
Mineralization is sparse and spotty gold values and scattered high grade pockets of scheelite in several quartz veins of NW strike and steep SW-ward dip, cutting Jurassic quartz monzonite, that has been invaded by pegmatite and aplite dikes. The veins are coarsely crystalline, grayish-white quartz ranging from a thin streak to about 7 inches wide.
Workings include shaft, a short adit, and surface workings. A few tons of gold ore were produced in the early 1900's and some tons of tungsten ore in later years.
