The Çataldağ mount area (from Çatal = fork and dağ = mountain in Turkish language) encompasses an Eocene metamorphic complex intruded by an early Miocene (21.9 Ma) granite, part of the Egean Turkey back arc magmatic belt (Kamacı & Altunkayna, 2019). Skarn occurrences around the massif seem to provide andradite-grossular garnets, quartz and epidote group minerals.
