Verde Valley is located in the center of Arizona and is 20 miles wide and 30 miles long. It is drained by the Verde River and is bounded on the North & East by the Mogollon Rim. The rim rises abruptly above the valley floor as a sheer precipice ranging in height from 1,000 to 2,000 feet. It is bounded on the SW by the Black Hills.
