A copper/zinc deposit registered by the NGU as NGU Deposit Area 919 - 012.

The copper ore was discovered in 1864 on the land of the Farm Vestre Bøylestad by Niels Ellingsen and Simon Olsen in 1986. The mining started in the Bøylestad Mine the same year. The Bøylestad mines consisted of three different mines, Bøylestad Mine (Bøilestadgruven), Heigruben and Slettegruben.

Copper mine closed in 1885 after few years of production. Worked by Bøylestad Kobberverk which also worked Skyttemyr Mine
