A former small surface and underground Zn-Cu-Pb-Ag-Au mine located in the North of center (NE¼) sec. 3, T24S, R16E, W of Washington Gulch, Duquesne, on National Forest land. Produced 1900-1951. Owned at times, or in part, by the Duquesne Mining & Reduction Co.; Byrd; and, Nash Mines.

Mineralization is partly oxidized sulfides, disseminated, and in bunches, in two parallel zones in pyrometasomatized Permian Naco Group limestone along strong fault zones and close to Laramide granodiorite.

Workings include shaft, tunnel, and open cut operations. Mined intermittently from the early 1900's through 1951. Produced some 300-400 tons of ore averaging about 6% Zn, 3% Cu, 2% Pb, 3 oz. Ag/T and minor Au.
