Petroleum exploration well located c. 35 km off the coast of Western Australia was drilled to a depth of 2749 m (Le Maitre 1975). The trachytes occur in 3 distinct levels within the borehole, whereas the phonolites are confined, with the exception of a single sample, to depths over 2590 m. The lamprophyres occur throughout the hole.
Age is probably Mesozoic.
