A former Pb-Ag occurrence/mine located approximately 4 miles (6.5 kilometers) up Moon Creek. The mine was operational in the years 1913-1940 according to the Idaho State Mine Inspectors Reports. This locality is not listed in the USGS MRDS database.
Mineralization is a Pb-Ag deposit hosted in argillite and quartzite of the Prichard Formation; Burke Formation. The Maine-Standard worked veins in quartzite within the Burke Formation.
Local geologic features include the Carpenter Gulch Fault (an unnamed offshoot of the fault passes near the mine).
Workings include underground openings. In 1922 the Maine-Standard Mine consisted of three adits and associated tunnels, Adit 1 - 100 feet, Adit 2 - 100 feet, and Adit 3 - 900 feet. By 1926 tunnels 2 and 3 had been abandoned and Adit 1 and associated tunnel had been driven to 1200 feet. External facilities included a blacksmith shop, wagon road, and bunkhouse.
