Structure: Faults And Shear Zones An 8 To 13-Foot Wide Shear Zone
Tectonics: Cerrillos Uplift
Deposit: The ore occurs in four veins that bear S 20 W and dip 80-85 w. The main shaft on the bottom dollar vein follows a mineralized shear zone that ranges from 8 to 13 feet in width. At a depth of 25 feet, a vein of high grade ore is found in the shear zone which continues to the bottom of the shaft, varying in width from 12 to 38 inches. Discovery year: 1870's
Geology: This is the only mine in the area that occurs in andesite rather than monzonite.
