Corundum-bearing phengitic gneiss sporadically cropping out between 1400 and 1600 m in the steep little valley of Rio della Lisca, on the woody northern slope of Cima del Group or La Cima (1810 m). Other outcrops occur in the area and particularly near Cappella del Group, a chapel located at 1559 m along the east crest of the same mountain.

Corundum appears as anhedral to euhedral crystals, colourless to white and also deep blue (sapphire variety), varying from 0.1 to 8 mm in size, sometimes associated with colourless to greenish apatite.

Furthermore, kaersutite has been found in a biotite schist outcrop at Rio della Lisca.
