A basaltic shield volcano.

Built along 2 rift zones, which extends for 25 km to the north and 12 km to the SE of a deep central caldera, 3.5 x 2.8 km in area and 300 m deep, with at least 7 coalescing pit craters (Savin et al. 2005).

Overall elevation 2,361m.

Erupted 11 July 1991, 16 April 2005, 25 November 2005, 28 May 2006, 1 June 2006, 13 January 2007.
