Tan Chau Quarry is located on the northern flank of Nui Dinh Mount and is part of the quarries in the area where the Rhyolites of the Early Cretaceous Nha Trang Formation are quarried as for construction purposes.
Rhyolites have a sub-horizontal dipping and are intersected by the intensive intrusion of more basic(darker)dykes and sills.
