Pedras Negras (Black Stones in Portuguese) is a spectacular outcrop of conglomerates forming a series of pinnacles with an elevation of 150-200m spread over an area of about 50 SqKm in the middle of the savannah.
From satellite image is quite easy to recognise a N-S and an E-W alignment of these pinnacles and ridges.
Conglomerates are quite well assorted and composed mostly of granite pebbles.
Pungo Andongo is a little village just in the middle of this outcrop, situated about 40 Km South of Cacuso and about 115 Km West of Malange.
