An U claim/prospect located in sec. 15, T.13S., R.18E., on the NE flank of the Rincon Mountains, about 30 miles ENE of Tucson. Owned by R.M. Vanover & others of Tucson (1951).
Mineralization is radioactivity in altered quartzite, probably Cambrian, underlain by Precambrian metamorphic rocks and overlain by Paleozoic limestone. The quartzite is cut by a radioactive fracture zone about 4 feet wide, traceable for about 50 feet. Autunite is associated with fluorite in fractures.
Workings include a prospect pit. No production record.
