The quarry is located about 1 km northeast of the village Przeworno, on the eastern side of the road to Strużyna. In the quarry, crystalline limestones (marbles) are exposed. Age of marble is unknown, possibly Proterozoic (Oberc, 1966, 1975). Extraction started from 1810, currently the quarry is flooded with water and direct observations can be made at a few points only. Above the marble, there are layers from Jegłowa. Quartz crystals in pockets up to 10cm, sometimes covered by chalcedony.
In the Neogene period, marbles underwent karstation, in karst forms exposed in a quarry in the early seventies of the XX century three fauna sites of Miocene discovered (Głazek et al., 1971; Galewski, Głazek, 1973).
Note: There is controversial work on the discovery of Proterozoic diatoms in Przeworno marbles, see references and external link - Siemińska J., Kwiecinska B. (1972) and (2003).
