Ore consisting of magnetite with varying amounts of sulphides, feldspar and mafic minerals (epidote, amphibole and/or pyroxene).
This iron occurrence was already known in 1907, and in 1913 (R.M. Black) and in 1916 (Ir. Smerling) exploration work was done.
During 1918-19 a Swedish company took out 2 Kt of ore, drove an adit to a depth of 30-40 m, but no ore was shipped out.
In 1937 an English company worked the deposit.
In 1993 the NGU studied this deposit.
The estimates of the reserves vary from 40 Kt to 7 Mt, but the latter figure includes other, nearby non-registered occurrences.
The main prospect (1x6 m) is called "Skipnes indre" (63.5739130,8.6464430), but the LiDAR map does not show any signs of mining, while at the here presented coordinates there might or might not be signs of mining.
