Köppen climate type:
A small town.
Gold in this area is mined artisanally from placer deposits, and the mineralization is hosted by quartz veins and veinlets hosted by shear zones, faults and lineaments within granitoid and metasediments of schists. Rocks in the study area consist of sodic rhyolites and tholeiitic basalts overlain by upper volcanogenic clastic rocks (principally tuffs) and variably reworked clastic rocks of predominantly intermediate composition (metagreywackes).
