During the construction of a new forest road to the water intake station for the Lindåna hydroelectric powerplant, a find of amethyst has been reported. In the collection of the Iveland Municipality Mineral Collection there is a sample documenting this find.
The construction work was done some time around 2010.
A short visit June 2022 did not result in confirming the presence of amethyst at this locality, but drusy quartz was found at several places along the forest road. None of the observed quartz specimens could be related to their origin, but the presence of fault zones and some small cavities in the rock confirm the presence of hydrothermal activity.
The coordinates are an approximation for the stretch along the road where the quartz specimens were observed. Noen of these was of any value to a mineral collector.
