The host rock of mineralization is the cataclastic Linglong granite, and the mineralization extends from 1500 to 2200 m underground, classifying it as a deep gold deposit in the JJ-XC mineralization belt. It is the super-large gold deposit with the largest proved metallogenic depth in this belt, with the proved resources exceeding 150 t. The deposit area mainly exposes the Neoarchean Jiaodong Group metamorphic rocks which are mainly composed of diorite-gneiss and altered gabbro, and Paleogene sedimentary rocks. Occasionally, Guojialing granodiorite is seen, along with quartz diorite porphyrite, diorite porphyrite, diabase porphyrite, and lamprophyre veins. The JJ-XC Fault, controlled by drilling, has a length of approximately 5400 m and a width range of 160–500 m in the deposit area. The Zhaoxian gold orebodies are strictly controlled by the fault, with an output depth of approximately 1500–2200 m, classified as four gold orebodies: I, II, III, and IV. Among these, I-1 and I-2 are the primary ore bodies, with an average grade of 3.35 g/t (ranging from 0.81 to 21.34 g/t).
