The clay pit used to be exploited by the company called " Heylen Bricks ", a brick factory who made, in the beginning, all kind of bricks but at the end, they specialised in facade bricks. Septarian nodules could also be found here and some clay layers contained shark teeth. Also on the top of the clay, there was some green sand which contained some sharkteeth too. After the company stopped, neighbour Wieneberger Bricks, exploited the site and formed at some time a huge quarry with a face of almost a kilometer long.
The pit is not in use any more and the nature has taken back the place.
Be carefull on the site because there are areas with clay holes that act like quicksand. There are no more things to find.
