This colliery, operated by the mining company "Compagnie des mines de Villeboeuf", consisted of the "Pélissier" and "Ambroise" shafts. The "Pélissier" shaft was put into operation in 1861. In 1865 the "Ambroise" shaft began operation. Both shafts were connected underground by a tunnel. In 1886 there was an accident during a passenger transport in which 7 miners lost their lives. In July 1890 there was a firedamp explosion in which 113 miners were killed. Another 40 miners were injured. Coal mining ceased in 1922, after the newly constructed "Didot" shaft was put into operation and took over coal production.
The geo-coordinates designate the starting point of the "Pélissier" shaft
