The region of Wutai is situated at the southern most segment of Central Mountian Range, Southern Taiwan. It consists of Miocene metasediments as sandstone and pelite with very low grade metamorphism. Numerous late stage hydrothermal quartz veins were found within metasandstone, and some of them may related to exhumation of the orogen. A part from as a well-known Taiwanese Faden Quartz occurrence, within these veins some other minor but interesting minerals are found.
