The Wellington Section is one of four sections that exploited copper-bearing siliceous veins of the former mining operations located at the town of Bruce Mines ON. This section is accessible where Caribou Lake Road crosses over it on the north side of the town. Two veins (No.1 and No.2) were exploited for copper in the mid to late 1800's in this section and are separated by about 100 feet. The veins occur within the Nipissing Diabase and consist of siliceous quartz veins having a near vertical dip and a northwest trending strike. Mineralization reported is chalcopyrite with other copper sulphides.

Several shafts were utilized to develop this section and the mining operation had a strike length of 1,860 feet and an average depth of 200 feet. It is reported that works on the No. l vein yielded at least 707,000 tons of ore. Interestingly, the ore materials generated were shipped overseas to England for further processing.
