This property was first worked by Messrs. Coon and Walton, of Elgin in 1921, and later by the Storrington Feldspar Company, of Elgin, and Mr.
G. Hurlburt, of Toronto.
The deposit consists of a 50-foot dyke of grey to white spar that cuts
crystalline limestone.
The main opening consists of an open-cut about 40 feet wide and 60
feet high carried into the face of a low ridge for a distance of 30 feet.
A small mining plant was installed on the property, and shipments are reported to have totaled about 2,500 tons. The workings lie close to the shore of Upper Rock lake and shipment was made by scow to a mine siding on the Canadian National railway, 3 miles distant.
