The limestone Alva de Pataias quarry has the registration number 2031, with a licensing date of July 1994, and the license was issued by DRIE de Lisboa e Vale do Tejo. In 2005, the adaptation of this quarry to the new legislation was approved.
This quarry is open-pit, and the excavation is carried out in tiers. In 2012, it was in operation, extracting white and grey limestones, as well as clays with gypsum.
