The Fallenberg quarry is a former marl quarry in Dutch South Limburg in the municipality of Maastricht. The quarry is located in the western valley wall of the Jeker Valley and on the eastern slope of the Cannerberg. The quarry is located on the northern edge of the Cannerbos on the Zeenendaalweg.

About 500 meters to the north is the Apostel Quarry and about 250 meters to the south is the entrance to the JezuÃŊetenberg Quarry.

The Gemeendeberg was originally a public marl quarry ('common' here means 'of the community'). This gradually changed its name in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries: Gemeendeberg became Veldberg and then Fallenberg.

Between 1704 and 1880, limestone was extracted by block breakers in the Fallenberg quarry for the production of marl blocks. It is not clear whether the quarry was exhausted or whether exploitation was stopped for other reasons. Around 1880, the abandoned quarry came into the possession of the Maastricht Jesuits, who then had the existing country house "Campagne" built in this area, which served as a relaxation area for the priesthood students training in the city. Part of the quarry was decorated by students over the years. This part of the Fallenberg is now called JezuÃŊetenberg.

In November 2000, the entrance to the Fallenberg quarry was permanently closed due to the extreme instability of the quarry. Since then, the quarry can only be entered via the JezuÃŊetenberg, but due to the risk of collapse this is only possible in extremely rare cases.

The quarry is known for a story about a noble lady who, together with her company consisting of her two children, a governess and the coachman, took shelter in the quarry with a carriage and horses when a heavy thunderstorm struck. However, while they were in the quarry, the quarry collapsed and nothing of them was ever found again.

The Fallenberg Quarry is part of a larger tunnel system and is thus connected to the JezuÃŊetenberg tunnel system that was constructed in the Fallenberg Quarry. Due to collapses, the large system under the Cannerberg has been divided into several parts, of which the Fallenberg Quarry is one. The Fallenberg Quarry has an area of approximately 0.42 hectares with a corridor length of 814 meters. The quarry has three floors in places.

The entrance to the quarry is closed, but in such a way that bats can use the quarry as a roost.

The manager of the quarry is the D.C. van SchaÃŊk Foundation.
