One of the two sites (the other one being the Panorama skarn of the Drama area, land part of Greece: https://www.mindat.org/loc-418021.html) reported as "a new type of mangan skarn". Related to rhodonite, johannsenite-spessartine and spessartine-cummingtonite zones adjacent to marbles / gneisses and the Thapsana leucogranite.

Note: coordinates set to "Thapsana monastery" (Ιερά Μονή Θαψανών) as no other sites with this name could be found.

The oxide skarn is proximal to its parental leucogranite, and likely formed from anatectic reworking of crustal Mn-rich sources - gneisses / marbles. The latter (two) could have delivered peraluminous melts with elevated Mn content.
