Salzinnes is a former village that has become a western suburb of the Belgian city of Namur, located in the Walloon Region in the province of Namur.
In Bas-Près, to the west, was the Abbey of Val Saint-Georges, where around twenty “ladies” lived with their servants. However, this did not give rise to any settlement and always remained isolated. Demolished in the 18th century, traces of it only remain in the toponymy (Rue and quai de l'Abbaye, rue des Bas-Prés, etc.).
