Bleiweißgrube (Galmeihöhle), Neuberg an der Mürz, Bezirk Bruck-Mürzzuschlag, Steiermark, Österreich
Protected cave, 56 m long.
Galmei is probably meant as a synomym of moonmilk which was mined in the Alps (Spötl, 2018).
The cave shows signs of old mining. I
The German name Bleiweißgrube suggests that the pigment "lead white" (Bleiweiß in German) may have been mined in this cave (small Pb-Zn mineralisation?). Alternatively, Bleiweiß could also have meant moonmilk(?).
