The Qiushulin molybdenum is a concealed ore body, distributed along the 25 to 13 lines. It is about 700 m long from north to south and 300 m wide from east to west. The average grade is 0.03–0.08 wt%, and the average thickness is 1.15–24.12 m, in the form of thin veins and lenses (or layered), occurring in the contact alteration zones of the quartz monzonite porphyry and the country rock Neoarchean Fangli gneiss, with a dip angle of 5°–45°. There are 5 main ore bodies in the mining area, numbered Mo-3, Mo-7, Mo-21, Mo-22, and Mo-24 in sequence. The Mo-3 ore body occurs between line 21 and line 17, controlled by boreholes ZK211, ZK210, ZK170, ZK171, ZK172, and ZK174. It is about 240 m long and 510 m wide. The Mo grade is 0.03–0.04 wt%, and the thickness is 1.88–49.08 m. The Mo-7 ore body is located around line 21, controlled by borehole ZK211, with a length of about 80 m, a width of about 80 m, a Mo grade of 0.04–0.09 wt%, and a thickness of 9.83 m. The Mo-21, Mo-22, and Mo-24 ore bodies are located between line 21 and line 23, controlled by borehole ZK101, with a length of about 80 m, a width of about 80 m, and a Mo grade of 0.03–0.14 wt%. The thickness is 15.70–21.75 m.
Mineralization process of this deposit can be divided into the following three stages:
(I) Quartz pyrite stage: According to the ratio of pyrite to quartz, this stage can be divided into the pyrite-quartz sub-stage and quartz-pyrite sub-stage.
(II) Quartz polymetallic sulfides stage: This is the main ore-forming stage.(III) Quartz carbonate stage: mostly produced in the form of veins, and the carbonates are mainly calcite veins. Visible small distribution of pyrite.
